Go Deep International Inc. is pleased to announce the receipt of an important contract with the Federal Government of Canada.

In the Fall of 2014, Go Deep submitted an entry into the Build In Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) under Call 005 Request for Proposals. On December 5, 2014 we received news that the company had been selected from a significant number of entrants for a Pre-Qualification Award for our four-season ice resistant navigation buoy. We were successful with a score of 162 points from an available 190 points.

This new contract is for the purchase and trial of thirty-two, four-season ice resistant navigation buoys for use by the Canadian Coast Guard. The Coast Guard will deploy the new ice resistant buoys in waters where freezing in the winter months normally prohibits the same buoy from remaining in service year-round.

In Canada and the northern United States, navigable waters exist where plastic buoys are removed in the winter due to the crushing conditions of the ice. Once the ice melts, the buoy is returned to that location. In some instances, a steel buoy is moored in place of the rotationally molded buoy. Our new four-season ice resistant navigation buoy limits the amount of activity necessary for proper maintenance, saving a great amount of manpower and fuel. The durable hull of the buoy is manufactured from high density polyethylene extruded in internationally approved colors which meet the specifications of IALA E-108 for surface colors. This eliminates maintenance costs associated with transporting, sand-blasting and painting.

We look forward to working with the Canadian Coast Guard to test and further develop this product. If you have questions about our new four-season ice resistant buoy or any other buoys and marine lanterns you’ve noticed on our website, contact us by filling out the form on the right.
